Assignment 1 Part 2

Effective communication can be achieved by clearly
explaining what the message is, some ways to effectively communicate are
Speech, Text, Writing, Typing, Sign language and Brail although these are completely
different forms of communication if used correctly and are understood correctly
the message can be clear, however if the message is misinterpreted it can mean
something completely different, take the game Chinese whispers for example the
first message can easily be misunderstood.

Assignment 1 Part 3

Below are three potential barriers to effective communication

1. Lack Of Concentration, means that the person cannot keep their mind to it or they may have a short attention span or they are not generally interested in the subject. This can be a major barrier as not much work can be achieved if someone has no concentration on the subject.

2. Disabilities, disabilities can be a big barrier for example Stephen hawking has one of the greatest minds but because of his disability he cannot speak as quickly as he has to type every thing he wants to say, this is why a disability can be a barrier to effective communication.

3. Distractions, Distractions can be anything that interrupts your work, as if you have to get work done and a person or object is preventing you from fully concentrating it is a distraction. This is probably one of the biggest barriers as it is very common for something else to need your attention.

Assignment 1 Part 4

1. Concentration barriers can be difficult
to fight as it mainly relies on the person or persons, there are ways to combat
this though like team building exercises or a team course where they will learn
what keeps people concentrated. Concentration is mainly affected by a disorder known as ADHD where the person will find it difficult to concentrate for long periods of time, a way to stop this from happening is to hire a team leader or a team motivator who will motivate\encourage the workers to keep concentrating on their work.

2. Disabilities can be a big barrier
but with the appropriate help and support it can be extinguished, for example
someone who cannot write could have a hired scribe to write everything they say,
or if someone cannot speak can have a speaker hired for them to announce their ideas this can help as this particular teammate could have the solution to a potential problem , A person who cannot hear could have a visual alert on their phone or PDA this means they can be made aware of the notification.

3. Distractions
can be a tough barrier to beat as a distraction can be almost anything from a
co worker to a radio in the background, these distractions can be stopped by
letting others know for example if a particular person is being noisy a polite
word with them can allow them to understand that work must be done or that they
are distracting others.

another way to stop distractions would be to sound proof the walls of a certain area as outside noise can be a big distraction for some people. another way to stop distractions would be to place darkened windows to stop visual distractios form outside.
